Conversations at Hunter Emporium: The Art of Being Human
Paint, a shared meal and a conversation about what stays uniquely ours as AI becomes more capable.
What happens when you bring people from different industries together, give them a canvas, and ask a question that reaches beyond what they do for work?
For the first edition of Hunter Emporium, we gathered at private members’ club Casa Clava for The Art of Being Human—an evening exploring creativity, connection and our changing relationship with AI.
Created by Hunter & Match, Hunter Emporium brings art and business into the same room. Through shared experiences and thoughtful conversation, we wanted to give people a reason to pause, get curious and encounter perspectives outside their usual circles.
Carousell co-founder Marcus Tan opened the conversation with observations from inside a technology-led business. Together, we explored how AI is changing interactions between buyers and sellers, and how that shift feels on a personal level.
Then, the conversation moved to the canvas.
In small groups, guests painted freely before photographing their artwork and asking ChatGPT to interpret what it might reveal about its creator—including a playful “work-personality archetype”. Did the interpretation feel familiar? What had it missed? The readings became an unexpected starting point for people to share how they saw themselves.
Over a shared meal, conversation cards invited guests to move beyond job titles and familiar introductions. Paintings gave people something to talk about; the table gave them time to stay with the conversation.
This first edition set the intention for Hunter Emporium: a space to explore ideas shaping how we live, work and connect, with art opening the conversation.
